Specifying the proxy settings for contacting the upstream server

If you will be using a proxy server to contact the upstream server, you need to specify settings for the proxy server.

To specify the proxy settings for contacting the upstream server

1. From the left-hand pane, expand Software, then expand Windows Updates, and choose the WSUS server.

2. From the right-hand pane, click the Settings button.

3. Choose the Update Source tab.

4. In the Proxy Settings section, tick the 'Use a proxy server' box.

5. Type the address of the proxy server, and the port number through which to contact the proxy server.

6. Click OK.
