Viewing server disk space

You can view server disk space and resources for your users, and assess what changes you may need to make to your servers and the distribution of users on them. For example, you might want to move users or user accounts to a different server if one server disk is over-subscribed.

To view a user's server disk space

  1. From the left-hand pane, expand Picture of the Users icon Users and choose All Users.

  2. From the right-hand pane, right-click the user and from the menu, choose Properties.

  3. Choose the Disk Usage tab.

  4. In the 'Disk space' section, the Used Space bar shows how much of their allocated disk space the user has used.

  5. Click OK.

Notes

  • Each server will reserve 10% of its disk space in a buffer to minimise the likelihood that the disk will become too full. When a disk becomes full, users will experience difficulties manipulating folders and large files.

  • For multiple users, in the 'Disk space' section, the boxes to specify the values states 'varies', and the drop-down list is greyed out.

  • When you have selected multiple users, in the 'Disk space' section you can view:

    • The total space used by the selected users.

    • For a server, or a specific drive, in the drop-down list, the total of the users' quotas set, and the quotas used. This indicates how much free space is still available on the selected server.

  • User properties are also available by selecting the user and choosing Picture of the Properties button in the toolbar, or by double-clicking the user in the right-hand pane.
