User policies

Different user policies can be applied to users to define the user's desktop and working environment to control what they can and cannot do on the network, and the features and functions that are available to them.

Your RM network provides access to the following user policies:

Staff A policy providing a near-standard Windows environment for staff, allowing them to personalise their desktops to their own requirements.
Standard A policy providing a standard Windows environment, but with some advanced features removed.
RM Explorer A policy providing a working environment designed for inexperienced users to give them a friendly, safe and clear means of running programs, working with files and accessing resources.
Guest A policy providing a working environment for users without their own account on the network, or for other users in the event of the system failing.
Internet & Email Settings A global policy providing settings that are applied automatically to all users to control how they access the Internet and use email. This includes:
Connection and browser settings.
Managing email accounts.
Client configurations.
All Users A global policy providing settings that are applied automatically to all the users in your network. These settings will override any settings applied by a user's own registry policy.

Notes

To apply a user policy to users, use the RM Management Console, Users option.
As user policies are applied only at log on, the user interface will remain consistent throughout the user’s logon session. When a policy is changed to configure the user interface differently, the change(s) will apply to those users the next time they log on.
