How to find drivers and download articles for your RM computer
Published Date : 11 Feb 2008   Last Updated : 03 Oct 2024   Content Ref: NWS1123183

How to access the My Computer page

You can access the My Computer page from the main RM Support homepage (My Computer is one of the tabs along the top of the web page), or by using this link My Computer.

How the My Computer page looks

This page works best when you are logged in and have searched on a specific serial number. Most RM serial numbers begin with two letters WO which stand for work order. We see many searches using W0 (zero) which will fail. Some begin TO and very old ones begin MO.

  Information about your computer

You can quickly review if your computer is in warranty or not and what type of warranty you have. If you have a managed service contract there may be a higher level contract which overrides the individual warranty.

Drivers, downloads and troubleshooting articles are returned in specific categories to aid navigation. At time of release (February 2008) we have categorised all such articles relating to components shipped in the last two years. Older articles will be categorised as Extra Info.

Add-In Adapter Cards
If your computer configuration included add-in adapter cards (eg PC PCI, PCIe or AGP cards), both the drivers for the mainboard and the add-in adapter cards will be listed. For example, if your system was ordered with an add-in PCI Express graphics adapter card fitted, you only need to install the add-in graphics driver because the mainboard graphics function will be disabled and the mainboard driver would not install even if you tried to install it. Also, many notebooks are fitted with add-in wireless cards and so these drivers will not be found by looking under the relevant notebook driver Knowledge Library folder, but the correct drivers will be listed on the My Computer page.

For this reason, customers are strongly advised to always use the My Computer page with the Serial Number lookup function to find the correct drivers.

New from May 2010
For all the new driver download articles created from May 2010 onwards, when you enter the serial number of your computer on the My Computer page, you will now get one driver collection article returned for each operating system under the Mainboard heading. See Other Useful Articles below for further details.
