How to change account settings in RM SafetyNet
Published Date : 19 Aug 2015   Last Updated : 21 May 2019   Content Ref: TEC4696993

Changing your account settings
At any time you can edit these personal details for your own account:
  • Your password.
  • Your email address.
  • The default number of  information rows displayed on pages.

You can also change your own permissions for the admin pages, in the same way as you would for any other user (see Managing admin users).

How to change your password
  1. Click your username at the top right of any page.
  2. Click 'Change password'.
  3. Enter your current password, followed by your new password twice for confirmation.
  4. Click 'Change password'.

How to change your email address
When you are set up as an RM SafetyNet administration user, your email address is recorded. This is used for authentication and logging purposes and for sending a new password if you have forgotten your existing password. At any time you can change this email address.

Note: When you change your email address, for security, your password is reset and a new one is sent to the new email address.

  1. Click your username at the top right of any page.
  2. Click 'Change email address'.
  3. Enter your current password and email address.
  4. Enter your new email address twice for confirmation.
  5. Click 'Update address and reset password'.
  6. Check your email for delivery of the new password. When you next sign in, change your new password to one of your choice.

How to change the default number of rows on pages

You can change the default number of rows that you want to display on pages, for example, how many rules display on the Your Rules page and how many users display on the User Management page. This setting only applies to your account, not to those of other users. When viewing a page with multiple rows, you can use a drop-down menu to override the default.

  1. Click your username at the top right of any page.
  2. Click 'Other settings'.
  3. Use the drop-down to select the default number of rows per page you want.
  4. Click 'Apply changes'.
