RM Management Console > Import and Export > Export items
You can export data, such as a list of computers, to create a readily-available backup of important data, or to move data to a different server.
You can export data in one of the following formats:
XML
CSV
custom-delimited text (.txt) file, where the information fields in the file are separated by a specific delimiter character such as a hyphen or a comma. You can specify the delimiter to be used in the file.
If you want the column headings to be included with the data you are exporting, you can choose to include a header row in your exported file.
Select the items, or the items from a list, that you want to export and, from the toolbar, choose Export.
In the 'Export to' section, type the name of the file you want to export to. Alternatively, use the Browse button to find the correct location for your export file, type a file name, choose the file type, and click Save.
When you have specified text format for the export file, in the Options section, choose a delimiter for the data. This can be a Tab, or a character such as a comma.
Confirm whether the data contains a header row by ticking the box.
Click OK.
On successful completion of the export, the export file is created in the specified location.
