Summary
Explains how to configure RM Unify establishments so that they can delegate admin access to trusted administrators in other establishments.
Symptoms
You would like to delegate RM Unify Super Admin rights to a trusted administrator in a separate RM Unify establishment. You and they may be part of Trust, or you may simply be establishments who share a trusted IT support or network manager.
Requirements
Any RM Unify establishment with a Premium licence can manage any other establishment - there is no specific requirement for a 'parent/child' cluster setup within the RM Unify hierarchy. However, RM Unify Basic establishments can only be 'managed' by the Manage Other Establishments functionality; they cannot themselves 'manage'.
Procedure
We will call the establishment requesting admin rights the 'Managing' establishment (Futurama in the screenshots below) and the establishment granting the rights is the 'Managed' one (ICSGoogleTSG in the screenshots below).
Log on as the RM Unify Super Admin of the Managing establishment.
Select the Management Console link and click Manage Other Establishments.
Under the Request Super Admin Rights heading, click the 'copy link' icon .
Give this link to a Super Admin user in the establishment to be managed.
The Managed administrator will click the link, which displays an acceptance page, detailing the access they will be granting (Fig. 1).
Once they have read the information, they can choose to tick the Grant Access box. Click Accept (Fig. 2) and OK to the popup (Fig. 3). Or, they can choose to Decline.
Once the access has been granted, the Managed establishment will appear under the Manage Other Establishments section at the Managing establishment (Fig. 4). Whilst the Managing establishment will appear under the Delegated Admin Rights section at the Managed establishment (Fig. 5).
The Managing Super Admin can then click the Manage button to access the Managed establishment.
At any time, the Managed Super Admin can choose to revoke admin rights for the Managing Super Admin by selecting the Revoke button in Fig. 5.
