Summary
Details on the admin rights available for users within RM Unify.
More Information
There are three types of admin rights available within RM Unify:
Super admin - can perform all administrative tasks.
Password admin - can reset the passwords of all non-administrative users.
Launch Pad admin - can set up and reorganise Launch Pads.
RM Unify allows a super admin to grant these administrative rights to a user with the role of Teaching Staff or Non Teaching Staff only. The assignment of these rights is audited to provide a log of who has been granted rights and by whom.
Note: Users with the Other role cannot have any admin rights assigned to them by design.
Super admin
A super admin is also referred to as an RM Unify administrator and is the initial administrative account created in each establishment (i.e. rmunifyadmin@<scope>).
The super admin right allows the owner to carry out the full range of administration tasks within RM Unify, including, but not limited to:
User creation, modification and deletion via the web form or CSV upload.
Granting of administrative rights to other users.
Installing apps (connectors to online services), which can share data with those third-party services.
Managing Launch Pad tiles, i.e. adding, removing and reordering.
Managing bulk group synchronisation to GOPS.
Managing branding settings, i.e. setting Launch Pad image and establishment logo.
AD Sync configuration, where appropriate for non-SEEMiS establishments.
MIS Sync configuration, where appropriate for non-SEEMiS establishments.
This is the highest level of administrative access to RM Unify and we require that any task that exposes personal data through the user interface, or shares data with third-party systems, is carried out by a super admin user.
Password admin
In general, password resets are the most common case dealt with by IT support. This permission, therefore, allows a super admin to delegate password management duties to trusted users within the establishment.
The following table shows the user types that a password admin can manage passwords for:

Launch Pad admin
The Launch Pad admin right gives a user the ability to manage the Launch Pads in their establishment, within some boundaries:
Managing branding settings - setting Launch Pad image and establishment logo.
Manage the Launch Pad for any of the roles - the tiles that are visible and the order of them in the grid.
Add any simple link app tiles - these are just hyperlinks to web content.
Add any SSO app tiles, where the super admin has already consented to the data release policy.
This allows a user with the Launch Pad admin right to manage the cosmetic experience of the Launch Pad for their school.
