Submit URLs for filtering
Published Date : 12 Sep 2001   Last Updated : 04 Oct 2024   Content Ref: TEC5754

Procedure

If you discover any websites that you feel are being missed by our filter lists, then please send an email to:
filtering@rm.com

All you need to do is copy the URLs (web addresses) of any sites that you find into the body of your email.

In order to help the efficiency of the filtering service, please can you ensure the following before submitting URLs for filtering:

  • That you have read our filtering policy.
  • That you have personally checked URLs for syntax errors and  suitability.
  • That we are not already filtering the URLs.
  • That you have provided a genuine reply email address.

Please also note that we do not generally filter the following types of site:

  • games
  • mobile phones/ringtones
  • sports
  • music (except explicit lyrics)

Requests to filter any of the above may not receive a reply. URLs should be placed in the main body of the message as active links, not as the subject. If you are unable to make the link active it may be due to a syntax error. A common mistake is miss-typing http:// at the beginning of a URL.

RM can provide schools with an Internet filtering service - RM SafetyNet - which allows you to make your own decisions about which individual websites may or may not be accessed and also which categories of RM's filtering are applied.

If you wish to find out more about RM SafetyNet, browse to:
