RM Unify Network Agent error "Access to the path 'Interop.ActiveDs.dll' is denied"
Published Date : 01 Jun 2023   Content Ref: TEC9190935

Symptoms

You have RM Unify Network Provisioning installed and working, but you see the following error in the RM Unify Network Agent log:

"System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'Interop.ActiveDs.dll' is denied."

Cause

When the RM Unify Network Agent service stops, it deletes the contents of the C:\ProgramData\RM\RM Unify Network Agent\PluginsCache folder. This error occurs when the Agent is unable to complete the deletion. On restarting the RM Unify Network Agent service, the Agent refreshes the PluginsCache folder contents and creates a new sub-folder with a random GUID. The Agent then continues to work as expected.

Procedure

To stop the error from being logged and to remove the old <GUID> folder, reboot the server. Once the server has restarted, the C:\ProgramData\RM\RM Unify Network Agent\PluginsCache folder should contain just one sub-folder. Please see the example in the screenshot given below:
