How to connect an existing RM Easimaths site to RM Unify
Published Date : 18 May 2023   Last Updated : 04 Oct 2024   Content Ref: TEC9166015

Symptoms

You have RM Unify and wish to use your accounts to access RM Easimaths™. You do not, however, wish to buy RM Easimaths through the RM Unify App Library, as you already have an existing RM Easimaths site and licence that you wish to use. This is known as a brownfield scenario.

Requirements

  • An RM Easimaths administrator account.
  • An RM Unify administrator account.

The process will take around an hour to complete.

Procedure

  1. Log in to RM Easimaths as an administrator.
  2. Click the 'School setup' button followed by the 'Change school details' button.
  3. In the RM Unify section, download the CSV file of your school's users for RM Unify User account matching.
  4. In the same section, copy the 'Establishment key', or write it down, for use later in the process.
  5. Log in to RM Unify as a super admin and navigate to the App Library.
  6. Search for the RM Easimaths app and click on the tile. Note: The tile must be in the SETUP, BUY, or TRIAL NOW state.
  7. Select the option to 'Connect to existing licence'.
  8. In the next screen, enter the 'Establishment key' noted in step 4 and click Next.
  9. At the screen titled 'Match existing RM Easimaths accounts', select 'Yes, I've already created accounts...' .
  10. At the next screen, re-enter the 'Establishment key' and click Next.
  11. At the next 'Match RM Easimaths Accounts' screen, select Browse and upload the CSV created in step 3.
  12. Review the matching screens. For users that have been matched to an imported RM Easimaths account, the RM Easimaths user ID for the matched account is also shown.

You can match a currently unmatched RM Unify user to an existing RM Easimaths account, by typing the user ID of an imported RM Easimaths account not already matched to another RM Unify user. You can remove matches by deleting the RM Easimaths user ID shown for the relevant RM Unify users.

You must complete any matching before you can install the app to any roles. However, if you aren't ready to check or edit all the users now, you can leave the wizard and then return to it later by clicking the RM Easimaths tile in the App Library. You can complete this task in as many sessions as you like.
  13. Once you have completed the matching exercise, click Save and Finish.
  14. The next screen shown will contain those users who exist in RM Easimaths, but who have not been matched to any user in RM Unify. At this point you have two options:
    1. To accept that these users will have to log in to RM Easimaths directly using their RM Easimaths account name and password.
    2. Create an account in RM Unify, using the same first name, last name and username as the RM Easimaths account. Once an account has been created, the matching process should auto-match to the RM Easimaths account and you can resume with the remaining accounts.
  15. Once complete, click Confirm Finished.
  16. Lastly, select which Launch Pads, which roles, RM Easimaths should be installed for, and which the tile should appear on.

Checks

Your accounts will now be updated and provisioned to RM Unify. We advise waiting at least 30 minutes before users start using the RM Easimaths app in RM Unify, to ensure the changes have processed fully in the datacentre.
