What happens if I edit the permissions of a group created by RM Unify?
RM Unify applies group permissions at the time of group creation. If you later choose to modify the permissions, RM Unify will not overwrite or re-apply permissions to the group, even if you resync users or re-federate from a Google Workspace tile in the RM Unify App Library.

Why are customised permissions not set directly on the All Users or All Staff groups?
RM Unify-provisioned users are only indirect members of the All Users and All Staff groups; this means that the custom permissions applied directly to their role-based groups take precedence and will apply to the users. However, the default group-permissions inherited from the Google tenancy will apply to any user manually added as a direct member of All Users or All Staff groups. This implies that if a student emailed the '<RM Unify establishment name> - All Staff' group, the Support Staff and Teaching Staff group members would not receive the email, as they are indirect members of the All Staff group and their role-group permissions would apply instead. A user manually added as a direct member of the All Staff group would receive the email sent by the student unless the access settings inherited by the All Staff group prevented email delivery.
