Summary
Explains the cause of the RM Unify Audit log message "SUCCESSWITHISSUES. CC4 reported the User was not created but on inspection the User is in CC4".
Symptoms
You are using RM Unify Network Provisioning on a Community Connect® 4 (CC4) network. A new RM Unify user account is successfully created in CC4, but the RM Unify Audit log reports the following message:
"SUCCESSWITHISSUES. User: <username>. CC4 reported the User was not created but on inspection the User is in CC4.. [CC4]: User Location is <Path> on Server <ServerName>"
where the user location <Path> contains brackets.
The following is also true:
In the CC4 RM Management Console (RMMC), the new student is visible under CC4, Users, Students and has the expected settings.
In the CC4 RMMC, the user folder is not created.
On the DC, the folder is successfully created.
In AD, the user is showing in the expected OU.
Trying to create the user folder manually in the CC4 RMMC shows the error message "User folder creation failed. Could not create the folder <folder name>."
Cause
This message is reported due to the use of brackets in the <Path> value of the 'CC4 RoleOURoots.xml' file.
For example:
<HomeServer>CC4-SR-001</HomeServer> <Path>Intake [CohortYoE](in Year 7)</Path>
Procedure
To prevent future occurrences with new users
Option 1: Change the default configuration so that the brackets are no longer used in the <Path> value when users are created:
Stop the RM Unify Network Agent Service.
Browse to C:\ProgramData\RM\RM Unify Network Agent\RMUPROOT-config\[CC4]\Configuration.
Open the 'RoleOURoots.xml' file.
Find the affected <Path> entry, e.g. <Path>Intake [CohortYoE](in Year 7)</Path>.
Remove the brackets in the <Path> value or set a new value that does not use brackets, e.g. <Path>Intake [CohortYoE]in Year 7</Path>.
Repeat the same for each <Path> entry found in the file if multiple <Path> values are set with brackets.
Save and close the file.
Restart the RM Unify Network Agent Service.
Option 2: Keep the existing <Path> value but create future user folders in the CC4 RMMC in advance of the users being created in RM Unify:
Open the CC4 RMMC.
Browse to Users, User Servers, ServerName, Students.
Right-click Students and click New User Folder.
In the 'Folder name' field, type the desired user folder you want future users to be provisioned into, e.g. Intake 2024 (in Year 7).
Click OK.
