Arbor Finance and RM Unify
Published Date : 29 Nov 2021   Last Updated : 06 Jul 2023   Content Ref: TEC8266218

Requirements

To access Arbor Finance, users must have:

  1. An RM Unify account with the non-teaching staff role assigned.
  2. An active account in Arbor Finance, linked to their RM Unify account.

How does it work?
When an RM Unify non-teaching staff user first signs in to RM Unify and clicks the Arbor Finance tile, a linked user account in Arbor Finance is automatically created with a status of 'inactive'. The end user will see a message "Your account is inactive.  Contact your administrator to activate it" on the RM Unify page.

The end user should ask their Arbor Finance administrator to activate the account.

Once activated, the end user will be able to sign in to RM Unify and access Arbor Finance via the tile.

Procedure

How is an RM Unify user linked to their Arbor Finance account?
Both user accounts are linked using the RM Unify user's unique identity GUID.

What happens to access if the RM Unify user is deleted?

When the RM Unify user is deleted, no action is taken within Arbor Finance because the account needs to be retained for audit purposes, e.g. to see who posted transactions. Although the user will be unable to access Arbor Finance as their RM Unify account no longer exists, we suggest leaving unused Arbor Finance accounts inactive.

If a new RM Unify user is created with the same RM Unify username, a new Arbor Finance account is also created when the user first tries to access Arbor Finance, as per the 'How does it work' section above. The new RM Unify user is not linked to any pre-existing RM Finance accounts.

How do customers reinstall the app/tile?

If your Arbor Finance contract has ended prematurely, or there has been a break in the contract, then you might need to reinstall the app/tile which will have been automatically removed from your Launch Pad.

Once the contract is back in place, follow the instructions here to reinstall the app and to display the tile on your Launch Pad.

Note: Although the wording presented in the app upon reinstall might suggest otherwise, your existing data will be restored and be accessible.
