Error message "Authorisation Error" displayed when clicking 'Go to the Google consent page' during RM Unify federation

Symptoms

RM Cloud Service Delivery can assist you with your Google Workspace federation. For further information, please speak to your Sales representative on 01235 645 316 or email getintouch@rm.com, quoting this article.

You are federating Google Workspace to RM Unify but after clicking 'Go to the Google consent page', you see the error message:

Authorization Error
Error 400:admin_policy_enforced
Access to your account data is restricted by policies within your organization.  Please contact the administrator for <domain> for more information.



Cause

This can occur when a Google super admin user has blocked third-party API access to your Google Workspace tenancy.



Procedure

  1. Ask your Google super admin to enable third-party API access using the steps in the 'How to enable third-party API access' section below.
  2. In RM Unify, return to a Google tile from the App Library and complete the Google federation.

How to enable third-party API access
  1. Sign into the Google Admin console as a super admin user.
  2. From the left-hand menu, select Security, 'Access and data control', API Controls.
  3. Under 'App access control', Settings, clear the 'Block all third-party API access' box.
  4. Click Save.
