Summary
Explains why an error message "ERROR,"GetIdentity","The email id of the user selected to send to Unify does not match the required format."" is displayed in the RM Unify AD Sync log.
Symptoms
In the RM Unify AD Sync Config Tool, the AD filter is configured with an email override to upload the email addresses of users to RM Unify. The email address shows in the RM Unify AD Sync Config Tool but fails to upload to RM Unify, with an error in the RM Unify AD Sync log as given below:
"ERROR,"GetIdentity","The email id of the user <username>, selected <email address> to send to Unify does not match the required format."
Cause
This error occurs when the email addresses begin with an underscore character '_', e.g. '_jsmith@school.com'. RM Unify AD Sync will not upload email addresses beginning with an underscore.
Procedure
If this is a new AD user and third-party applications are not reliant on their current email address in AD, please change it to one without an underscore. RM Unify AD Sync will upload the revised, valid email address on the next scheduled upload (approximately 15 minutes).
If the user is already using third-party applications that are reliant on their existing email address, please contact Cloud Support for further assistance.
More Information
When an AD filter is configured to upload an email address but the AD user account has no value in the selected attribute, then the same error will appear in the RM Unify AD Sync log. This is an expected behaviour.
