Summary
Explains how any Teaching or Non-Teaching Staff account is able to reset a student user's RM Unify password.
Symptoms
It is possible for all Teaching Staff and Non-Teaching Staff users to reset the RM Unify password for a Student account, regardless of how that Student account has been provisioned - via MIS Sync, AD Sync, or manual creation/CSV file.
Procedure
Log on to RM Unify as a Teaching Staff or Non-Teaching Staff user.
Click the Management Console link on the top task bar - this should open the Users page.
Find the student user on the page, or use the filters to search for the student user.
On the far right, click Actions (as shown in the image below) and click 'Change password'.
Enter a new password - the password must be at least four characters long.
Confirm the new password.
Choose whether you wish to force the user to change their password after they have logged on - leave the 'User must change their password' box ticked if so - and click Save.
Possible Issues
RM Unify AD Sync: For student users provisioned this way, resetting their password via the Management Console will not sync to the network. The network will still have the 'old' password. To resolve, the student user simply needs to reset their network password in order to sync that back to RM Unify.
RM Unify Network Provisioning: Once the password has been changed in the Management Console, this will sync back down to the network, keeping them in sync.
