Summary
Explains why you see an error "The username is already in use by another user in your establishment" when you upload a .csv file in RM Unify.
Symptoms
When you upload a .csv file of users, the error below is displayed:
"The username is already in use by another user in your establishment".
The uploaded CSV won't be synced with your establishment's users because it contains one or more data errors listed below:
The username is already in use by another user in your establishment.
PersonID column contains invalid value.
Cause
You will see this error if the following is true:
You have configured MIS Sync in Create Mode to provision users from your MIS system into RM Unify and
The username in the CSV file has previously been assigned to a user provisioned from MIS. The RM Unify user account may be active or deleted.
This is an expected behaviour. Usernames assigned to MIS-provisioned users, even those that are now deleted, cannot be re-used without assistance from the RM Cloud Support team.
Requirements
Check if the username is in use by an active or deleted account
Sign in to RM Unify as a user with Super Admin rights.
Click Management Console, Users.
In View, click the down arrow key and select Governor.
Search for the username.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the remaining role types, and also for those in the 'Deleted users' view.
Procedure
If the username is assigned to an active RM Unify user and you want to change it:
Go to Management Console, Users and select the existing user.
From the Actions menu, click 'Change username' and 'rename'.
Re-upload your existing CSV file.
If the username is assigned to a deleted RM Unify user:
In the CSV file, replace the username with one that has not been used before (e.g. append a '1', etc., to the username), or raise a support call with your usual support provider to get assistance from the RM Cloud Support team.
