Malware detected while accessing Microsoft 365 within Glow
Published Date : 07 Dec 2018   Last Updated : 23 Jul 2024   Content Ref: TEC6561579

Procedure

Overview

While accessing any Glow features held within the Microsoft 365™ environment, Microsoft monitor for malicious software that may be detected from within the files being accessed or coming from the device that is being used to access the Microsoft 365 environment.

Detection and prevention

During the checks carried out by the Glow helpdesk, it is found that a user may be flagged by Microsoft to have been accessing the Microsoft 365 environment via a device that may have malicious software installed on it. When this is the case, we will disable access for the user within Glow and request that the user change any passwords that are linked to their Glow address in any way, as well as checking any devices used to access glow for malicious software before the account can be re-enabled.

The following Microsoft article will help in both the detection and prevention of harmful software: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/129972/how-to-prevent-and-remove-viruses-and-other-malware
