Summary
Explains how to simplify pupils' RM Easimaths passwords.
Procedure
Even though it is not possible to have an RM Easimaths account with no password, the minimum length of password that could be set in an account is one character/number. In this way, complex passwords can be simplified.
The recommended way of updating a large number of accounts all together:
Log on as the RM Easimaths admin.
Click School Setup, Pupil Setup, Export Pupil Details. This will generate a CSV file called Pupil.csv.
Save the Pupil.csv file to a suitable location.
Open the Pupil.csv file in Excel.
Update the password in the Password column for each user to the desired simple password (leave all other data alone).
Save the changes.
Still within Pupil Setup, click Import Pupil Details.
Click Browse.
Browse to the location and select the updated Pupil.csv file.
Tick the 'First row contains column headings' box.
Click Next. The 'Match headings' window opens.
Tie up the headings as follows:
Forename: Forename
Surname: Surname
Date of birth: Date of birth
Username: Username
Password: Password
Level: Level
Click Import.
A message confirming the users already exist should be displayed. This should show you each user's current password and the new password you set in the CSV file. If that looks fine, click Select All CSV.
Click Import. A message confirming the users have been updated displays.
Click OK.
The users should now be able to log on with their simplified password.
Alternatively, you can update single accounts manually:
Log on as the RM Easimaths admin.
Click School Setup, Pupil Setup. A list of pupils displays.
To update a user, click the entry in the Status column (not the box at the end). The current username/password displays.
Click the Reset button.
Enter the new password and confirm it.
Click Save.
The user's password will then be updated.
