Published Date : 19 Sep 2016   Last Updated : 04 Oct 2024   Content Ref: TEC5337174

Symptoms

Users are failing to provision to RM Unify and you see the following error in the RM Unify AD Sync log:

",ERROR,"ProcessEstablishmentConfig","Failed to process changes in Establishment Config <AD Filter>(<GUID>) - System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryServicesCOMException (0x80072020): An operations error occurred", where AD Filter is the name of your AD filter and GUID is a unique GUID.

Cause

This error occurs when an Active Directory OU is corrupt. This could be the OU specified in the AD filter or any child OU of it. The OU, for example, cannot be moved or modified due to an underlying Active Directory issue.

Procedure

There are two possible options to resolve this error.

Delete the corrupt OU and reinstall AD Sync
  1. Consult your network administrator and delete the corrupt OU if it does not contain objects and is no longer required on the network.
  2. Reinstall RM Unify AD Sync. Refer to TEC5015612 in the Other Useful Articles section below.

Reinstall RM Unify AD Sync and workaround the corrupt OU
  1. Reinstall RM Unify AD Sync. Refer to TEC5015612 in the Other Useful Articles section below.
  2. Create new AD filter(s) so that the container selected is neither the corrupt OU nor the corrupt OU a child OU of the selected container. You may have to create multiple AD filters depending on the location of the corrupt OU.
