Symptoms
When you try to install RM Unify Password Filter, the error message below is displayed:
"You do not have the required permissions to install. An administrator account is required to install RM Unify Password Filter".
The installing user has administrator rights and may have successfully installed RM Unify AD Sync.
Cause
This error can occur when the installing user is not a direct member of the Administrators global security group. It will occur even if the user is a member of the Domain Admins group, which itself is a member of Administrators group.
Requirements
On a domain controller, open 'Active Directory Users and Computers'.
Find the administrator account you are using to install RM Unify Password Filter.
Right-click the user and select 'Add to a group'.
In the 'Enter the object names to select' field, type administrators.
Click OK.
Retry RM Unify Password Filter installation.
On successful installation, repeat steps 1 and 2.
Right-click the user and select Properties, 'Member Of'.
Select the Administrators group and click Remove.
Click Yes to confirm selection.
Click OK.
