Summary
Explains why the RM Unify Management Console may not display the year group for one or more students.
Symptoms
When you view students' details in the RM Unify Management Console there is no year group shown for one or more students under the section RM Unify Group Membership.
Cause
A student's year group will be shown in the RM Unify Management Console when:
RM Unify AD Sync has been configured to upload year of entry for students.
Year groups have been set up in the RM Unify Management Console.
Procedure
Check RM Unify AD Sync
On your RM Unify AD Sync server, open the RM Unify AD Sync Configuration tool.
Click Service, Settings.
Under the RM Unify Uploads section, select an appropriate year that corresponds to your school years.
Click OK.
Under the students' AD Filter, wait for the next scheduled scan and upload to complete.
Click the Users node. The year of entry column will be populated with data on successful upload.
Check year groups in the RM Unify Management Console
Log on to RM Unify as an RM Unify administrator.
Click Managment Console, Groups.
Click Set Up Year Groups.
Under Configure Year Groups, ensure the Enabled box is ticked against the relevant year groups.
Click OK.
Possible Issues
When you choose to view a student's details in the RM Unify Management Console, you may see two fields relating to the student's year of entry:
Under Personal Details section, there is a field 'Year of entry'. If displayed, this is an internal value used by RM Unify and may not reflect the actual year of entry that was uploaded by RM Unify AD Sync. You can safely ignore this value.
Under RM Unify Group Membership section, there is a field Year Group. This reflects the year group associated with the actual year of entry uploaded by RM Unify AD Sync.
