Converting a RDX drive to a Fixed Disk drive
Published Date : 07 Oct 2013   Last Updated : 12 May 2023   Content Ref: TEC3446468

Requirements

RDX Fixed Disk mode requirements

The following set of requirements is needed in order to allow Windows® Server Backup to schedule backups on RDX drives.

  • RDX Utility version: 1.52 or greater.
  • RDX firmware version: 0205 or greater.
  • Operating system: Windows Server® 2012.

Procedure

Setting up the RDX

Windows Server Backup will only allow scheduling a fixed drive. On previous firmware this was not allowable on the RDX drive, but the following features have been added to allow the RDX drive to be switched between fixed and removable disk.

  • Eject any cartridges that are in the drive.
  • Load the RDX Utility from the Start interface.

You can see your drive details similar to the image shown below.
