The Windows 8 recovery process uses the Push-Button Reset process within a Windows 8 installation.

In the event that you want to restore your system back to the original state that you received it, please follow the instructions below.

All systems we ship with our default Microsoft® Windows® 8 install have a backup that is compatible with the Push-Button Reset process.

1. In Windows 8, move your cursor to the bottom right corner - this brings out the side menu.
2. From this menu, select the Settings option.
3. From the Settings menu, choose 'Change PC settings' at the bottom of the screen.

4. You should now be in the PC Settings menu, select General and scroll down to the bottom.
5. Under the 'Remove everything and reinstall Windows' option, there should be a 'Get started' button. Click the button and it will initialise the process for recovering your system.
6. The next screen is the main section for recovering your system. Click the Next button if you are sure you want to remove all your personal files and applications.

The system will now detect whether a valid recovery image is still present on your system.

7. The next prompt should be 'Do you want to clean your drive fully?'; if an 'Insert media' prompt appears it has not been successful.
8. Select either 'Just remove my files' to restore the system, or if it is changing owners, select 'Clean the drive fully' (note that this second option can take quite a long time).

The system will now reset back to the same state as shipped from the factory. This will take up to a couple of hours to complete.
