"Error 2046" displayed when logging on to RM Easimaths

Symptoms

When you try to log on to www.rmeasimaths.com and enter your logon credentials, "Error #2046" is displayed at the bottom of the window.


Cause

This issue is caused by Adobe® Flash® Player. It arises because the current Adobe Flash Player installation thinks one or more of the Flex library files it is trying to load are untrustworthy. Clearing the Adobe Flash Player cache resolves the issue.



Procedure

Error #2046
The procedure to address this issue on a PC and MAC differs. Please refer to the appropriate section below for detailed instructions. 

PC - Step 1: Clear all temporary Internet files on the computer

PC - Step 2: Clear the Flash Player cache via the Global Storage Settings panel
  1. Browse to http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager03.html. The 'Global Storage Settings panel' section allows you to change some of the settings for the Adobe Flash Player on your computer will be displayed.
  2. Clear the 'Store common Flash components to reduce download times' box.
  3. Click Confirm in the pop-up that appears.
  4. Tick the 'Store common Flash components to reduce download times' box. There won't be a confirmation pop-up this time. Turning this option off and then back on again will have cleared the Adobe Flash Player cache on your computer.
  5. Close the web browser.
  6. Open a new web browser session and retest logging on to RM Easimaths.
  7. Should the issue remain after completing this step; go to step 3.

PC - Step 3: Clear the Flash Player cache via the UI
  1. Click Start and select Control Panel.
  2. Change the 'View by' setting from Category to either 'Large icons' or 'Small icons'.
  3. Select Flash Player from this list of available icons. The Flash Player Settings Manager window opens.
  4. On the 'Storage' tab, click the Delete All button.
  5. Tick the 'Delete All Site Data and Settings' box.
  6. Clear the 'Delete All Audio and Video License Files' box.
  7. Click the 'Delete Data' button - that part of the window should close.
  8. Close the Flash Player Settings Manager window.
  9. Open a new web browser session and retest logging on to RM Easimaths.
  10. Should the issue remain after completing this step; go to step 4.


PC - Step 4 (If steps 1, 2 and 3 don't help)

If Internet Explorer or FireFox is being used as the web browser:

  1. Click Start, Run and type %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Flash Player\AssetCache.
  2. Press Enter. The AssetCache window opens.
  3. Delete all the folders that show within this location, example folder name: 8HG8U6QC.
  4. Close the AssetCache window and retest accessing RM Easimaths.

If Google Chrome is being used as the web browser:

  1. Click Start, Run and type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Pepper Data\Shockwave Flash\CacheWritableAdobeRoot\AssetCache.
  2. Press Enter. The AssetCache window opens.
  3. Delete all the folders that show within this location, example folder name: 8HG8U6QC.
  4. Close the AssetCache window
  5. Re-test accessing RM Easimaths.

Please shutdown and restart the computer and retest accessing RM Easimaths.
