Requirements
RDX Fixed Disk mode requirements
The following set of requirements is needed in order to allow Windows® Server Backup to schedule backups on RDX drives.
RDX Utility version: 1.52 or greater.
RDX firmware version: 0205 or greater.
Operating system: Windows Server® 2012.
Procedure
Setting up the RDX
Windows Server Backup will only allow scheduling a fixed drive. On previous firmware this was not allowable on the RDX drive, but the following features have been added to allow the RDX drive to be switched between fixed and removable disk.
Eject any cartridges that are in the drive.
Load the RDX Utility from the Start interface.
You can see your drive details similar to the image shown below.
Select your drive and click Diagnostic.
Ensure that under Device Data, Status shows as Good and Firmware shows as 0205 or above.
Click the Utility tab and then click Change Device Mode.
Click the Fixed Disk radio button and click OK.
